MFW - Random post

01 March 2012

It was inaugurated yesterday night the new Valentino's flagship store in Via Montenapoleone 20, call it just shop is reductive, it is a succession of beautiful rooms each with a different character to better bring out the peculiarities of each collection.
David Chipperfield, Director of the Thirteenth International Architecture Exhibition that will be held in Venice from 29 August to 25 November was able to translate the salient feature of the Valentino's DNA: the savoir faire couture in the idea of a building, from the monumental staircase until the truly heart of the "home".
Colors, materials and lights create a special atmosphere.
The architecture is designed to create a perfect blend with the products displayed, using a range of material with a sober opulence to focus on the collections and convey a sense of intimacy.
Some rooms have been decorated with shelves from top to bottom in inlaid American walnut inlaid, that infuses a sense of intimacy, like in a library of an English nobleman.
The walls of the dressing rooms are finished with leather to make more warm these private spaces.
The furniture in all the rooms have the charm of a personal collection in which are blended exclusive pieces with modern elements inspired by Art Deco.
